The title for the new GTO spin-off starring Onizuka’s longtime friend Danma Ryuji was made clear in last week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine. The series will be called GT-R, which stands for Great Transporter Ryuji. The series will focus on Ryuji living his life as a motorcycle store manager, who one day meets Ishikawa Mimon, a mysterious high school girl with an even more mysterious interest in Ryuji. The first chapter will be released in this year’s 30th issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine, which will hit shelves on the 27th of June, this Wednesday. The first chapter will consist of 31 pages, including three pages in colour. The cover of this issue will also feature a picture of Onizuka and Ryuji, which is something quite unusual for Shonen Magazine, a publication that typically favours a pretty girl on their cover over the illustrated manga characters that many other Shonen manga magazines usually sport. I will prepare a more detailed description of the first chapter upon its official release.
